Tenth Anniversary Trip

Today, August 7th, we will celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. To celebrate we took a little get-away back in June and celebrated without the kiddo in Hot Springs, AR. We spent our honeymoon in Eureka Springs, AR and decided to relive parts of it in another city. That was kind of fun! And really helped us to remember and reminisce about that trip.

We drove down on Tuesday and had lunch at Belle Arti, a lovely Italian restaurant in the historic downtown.

We stayed in a nice hotel right on Lake Hamilton. 

We went to see the movie "The Fault in our Stars"

and had a wonderful dinner at the Back Porch Grill (which we highly recommend if you're ever there).

On Wednesday, we went downtown to see the famous Bath Houses and shop.

Wednesday afternoon we rented a boat and went out on Lake Hamilton.

We really enjoyed seeing the $million$ dollar homes! 

I also learned how to drive a boat! 

We had shopped one morning in Eureka Springs and we also went out on a boat in Eureka Springs on the lake there. So that was 2 more activities that were copy-cats from our Honeymoon.

After dinner we headed back downtown where we saw the Maxwell Blade Magic Show.

It's a great family friendly show and if you're ever in Hot Springs I recommend it. 

On Thursday, we went and played miniature golf  (which we also did on our honeymoon 10 yrs ago).

We had a couples massage (which we also did on our honeymoon) at Ablution.

We went to see the movie Maleficent

We ended our celebration with a big dinner at the popular Fisherman's Wharf.

It was delicious!!! 

After dinner we drove up on West Mountain, which has an overlook out on the city of Hot Springs.

We did a little rock climbing.... 

We got up Friday morning and had a lovely breakfast at Gilligan's Island.

For the last several years on our anniversary I let you know what the traditional and modern gifts are for that number of years married. Well for 10 years the traditional gift is Tin/Aluminum and the modern gift is Diamond Jewelry. While in Hot Springs we purchased a very nice/expensive set of wind chimes for our front porch. They represent our Tin/Aluminum. And we just love the sound they make. It's very beautiful and peaceful!

Cousin Time

My sister flew in an air race again this year. While she was gone, we were able to keep my nephew for one of the weeks. He and Cal had such a good time. Here are some of the highlights from his visit.

Going to VBS 

Having lunch at McDonalds 

Jumping on the trampoline 

Watching Cal at swim lessons 

Going to the park 

Going to the zoo 

And going to church 

We had so much fun, that he came back for another visit in July!
