Tears of Sadness, Tears of Joy

Some of you may know our dog, Gabbie. Well, she is a Bichon Frise and we love her to death, however, she has been getting very territorial with Calloway. She has started barking at her a lot and nipping at her when we pick her up. Well, the other day she almost bit Calloway and I told Mark that was it. I couldn't put Calloway in that kind of danger. She was 9years old and we couldn't stand the thought of having her euthanized so we decided we would take her to the Animal Shelter/Humane Society and hopefully someone would come along and adopt her like we did. We had discussed this and I knew the day was coming but what I didn't realize was that Wednesday when I got home from work, she wouldn't be here. Mark called the shelter and they said they could take her. SO, he took her on Wednesday. It was extremely hard coming home and finding her gone but I know that is what was the best. She was a great dog while we had her and we have many great memories of her....here are a few pics of our time with her.

On a happier, much happier note....Calloway is officially crawling. I took this little video earlier tonight of her crawling across the dining room to some paino sheet music that Mark left lying on the floor. Sorry the video is kind of dark...it gets better the further get into it. Enjoy!

  1. I'm sure gonna miss Gabbie, after all she was my dog first. She was such a sweet and smart dog. But I know this is best. As for that granddaughter, you better watch out-she's on her way now. She is so cute! Thanks for the video so we can see. love ya Monna

  2. I am so sorry you had to give Gabbie up. That is such a hard thing to do, but I loved all the pictures you posted (especially the one of you dressed up in a costume).
Watching Calloway crawl was awesome! Now she'll be into everything. :-)

  3. I'm so very sorry to hear about Gabbie. That has to be so hard on you.

  4. I know that must have been hard on you! I am sure you made the right decision though--your baby has to come first! Some of our friends had their son attacked by a family dog when he was 10 months old and it almost took off his nose. I am so paranoid about Brooklynn being around dogs now, even though I know that most dogs are harmless!
