My cousin Brianna is in the PG Marching Band and of course we enjoy watching her. This year my cousin Lauren and one of her friends rode in the rumble seat of my Aunt's antique car that was driven by my grandpa.
My uncle Byron had the priviledge of driving the Grand Marshall in one of his dad's antique cars.
When Libby and I were younger we got to ride in the rumble seat holding my two little cousins. Then there were the years that the cousins rode on floats with their square dance teams. Anyways, you kind of get the point that this is a big to-do in AR and with my mom's side of the family. Every year we get to the parade early enough to stake out this corner. Calloway had fun hanging out with Unc and Bizby while waiting for the parade to start. I think Unc enjoyed hanging out with her just as much as she did.
After the parade it is tradition to walk around and look at all the booths. There are arts and crafts vendors of all kinds that setup shop for the weekend at the Clothesline Fair. This year's fair had the most vendors I can remember of any year.
Even my aunt on my dad's side had a booth this year. She makes beautiful jewelry and her husband engraves jewelry. It was neat to see her booth and walk around with my family. There is something for literally everyone at the Clothesline Fair. From a 5k run, to the Bluegrass Music, watching them make Molasses and Sorgum, great food in the Latta Barn, the Little Miss Clothespin Pageant, square dance competitions,
and of course all the neat creations that people make and sell.
