Out with the Silver

in with the Royal Blue....in my garage that is. Back during the early part of December, Mark was in a car accident in my car. He was headed down the road less than 1/2 a mile from our house when a guy pulled out of the gas station without looking and just stopped in Mark's lane. Mark braked but there was nothing he could do and he hit the guy. Luckily they found the other guy at fault. On the outisde it din't really appear to have much damage. See....
But apparently when they opened up Ole Silver, she had more than we could have imagined wrong. They decided that the damage was more than my car was worth, so they totalled (sp?) it. This past weekend we went to Arkansas and my wonderful dad took us to a trusted old car dealer friend, from whom my family has purchased several cars. My dad is really good at jewing (sp?) those guys down and he helped us A LOT! Eventually here is what I came home with!

I am very excited about my new 2011 Honda Civic! She is Royal Blue in color but if the sun shines on it just right she looks purplish. I love that! She also has a new name.....Blueberry. I think that is an appropriate name since she leaves behind a hint of purple and don't forget Calloway's love of Strawberry Shortcake right now. (She has a friend named Blueberry Muffin, in case you don't keep up with Strawberry!)
Well, I just wanted to share my joy with you! Have you ever got a new car when you weren't planning on getting one?

  1. Very nice! Glad you decided to join the family and get a civic, lol! And yes, after attempting to make my gray civic fly, I had to get a new one... Looking forward to a ride in Blueberry!

  2. Wow. I'm glad that Mark was okay and that they found the other guy at fault. Our Neon (that I had since before we got married) died a few too many times on me, so we just got a van a couple of months ago. I love the color of your new car! Have fun!

  3. I'm glad to hear nobody was hurt! I just traded out my little Prius for an SUV a few months ago when we decided that three car seats wouldn't fit in the back! It's a nice feeling to drive something new. :-)
