NYC Day 4 - Part 3

When we left FAO Schwarz we headed off to Macy's. I was so excited to get to go there since you always here about how great Macy's is with the Thanksgiving Day parade, old movies, etc. So, I really wanted to go and experience the "magic of Macy's".
Macy's is 7 stories tall and is full of many things. However, they do not have a Children's toy department. It was very ghetto and looked like it hadn't been updated since the 1940's. The floor tiles were missing in places and I was just really disappointed! It was definitely not this magical place that I expected to see. Someone told us that if we went to Macy's we needed to check out the wooden escalators. So here we are....
Now, I know that it's hard to tell anything from that picture but if you look at the next picture you will see that every part of the escalator was wooden. These are the original escalators to Macy's and the very first ones every made. And yes, they were wooden....kinda creepy, scary, at the same time.
Macy's did have one thing that made us happy, a McDonalds. We let Calloway pick where she wanted to eat for our last night in NYC and of course she chose.....MickeyD's.
She wanted to pose by the hamburgers. :) Silly girl!
After dinner we headed back to the hotel to put Little Miss to bed. We left her with the in-laws, so that Mark and I could go on a "date". Part of his trip to NYC included a midnight cruise and dinner. We were able to get me a ticket so that I could join him.
Here we are about to board the "Spirit of New York".
This cruise ship could seat 600 people and we had about 125 all to ourselves.
The boat cruised down the Hudson River and into the Bay, we went around the Statue of Liberty and passed Ellis Island. It was really neat to see them at night. They have now reopened the statues crown, so people can go up in her again. If you wanted to do that you will have to wait until August because tickets are already sold out that far in advance. (*Keep in mind it was the beginning of May when we were there.)
Here we are with NYC in the background! Yes, it was quite windy and chilly up on top of the boat.
