Many of you know that every year we take our Youth Choir on a Missions Trip. Below is the logo that Mark and I designed for this year's trip.
This year our trip was to St. Louis, MO.
(Below) Getting ready to go means Mark hands out money for each of the teens to use for meals on our trip.
(below) Each van we drove this year was given a name. The van that Mark and I were responsible for was the "Christian Cruiser" and are counterpart was the "Missionary Machine".
We got to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises.
We stopped in Norman, OK for breakfast at the Chick-fil-A.
Back on the road again! I felt so "in-charge" getting to ride shotgun and having a van full of teenagers and luggage. It brings back so many days of my teen years and the trips our youth group went on.
We stopped in Tulsa, OK for lunch where I got to meet up with my sister, Libby. I am actually talking to her on the phone about where we are parked.
It was good that I got to see her "big belly" one last time, because she had her baby on Thursday. That's another post for another day!
Libby was kind enough to take a group photo for us.
Here are Mark and George doing what they got good at....gassing up the vans!
I love that much of the road we traveled was Route 66, even though it wasn't the same as the Old Mother Road. There were some neat 'vintage' signs along the way, such as this "newer" sign at one of the rest stops in Missouri.
I loved that the floor inside the rest stop was a map of Route 66.
And of course this is just cool too!
And we finally arrived Monday evening. This is from the hallway of our hotel. Can you believe we had an Arch View!
Connected to the hotel was Sybergs, a restaurant. I went out on a limb and tried the Grilled Shark for dinner. It was good but a little dry. I did the like the flavor though.
Stay tuned for more....
