At preschool this past month Calloway's class has been studying insects. Her teacher even got some larva of ladybugs and caterpillars for the kids to observe the life cycles. Calloway and Mark have come home everyday telling me about the developments. Today all of the butterflies had hatched and they let them go on the playground. They also let the ladybugs go too.
Since they've been studying insects a lot of the work that Calloway has brought home from preschool has been insect themed. The other day she came home with the leaf on the right. It has a fuzzy caterpillar sitting on it. (A few body segments were missing by the time it made it home.) And on the left is a chrysalis with a caterpillar wrapped up inside.
Another favorite of hers is catching rolie-polies (sp?).
Maybe I'm raising a future Entomologist.
Boy would she have loved my Entomology class that I took in college!
