Labor Day Weekend

Every year I look forward to Labor Day Weekend.
For me, it is the start of fall.

Labor Day Weekend for the past 31 years of my life has been spent in Prairie Grove, AR.
It's the home of my parents, the Clothesline Fair, the parade, the food (especially the funnel cakes and fresh squeezed lemonade), antique stores, and time spent with family and old friends.

Saturday begins with the parade. Here are the little girls waiting patiently for the parade to start.
Cal and daddy waiting.
Cal and her Great-Grandpa (my maternal grandpa) waiting.
Giving a good "Statue of Liberty" pose while waiting.
Yes, we get there super early for the good seats and wait.
Wait for the candy, wait for the floats, and wait for the band.

Or scream/laugh at the clowns as they go by.
And then the band rounds the corner and that's the end of the parade for us.
You see the two middle girls are both there. One is Drum Major, the other playing the cymbals.
And of course the shopping begins.
The Clothesline Fair is similar to a big craft show but it's even better than that.

This year Calloway picked out this stuffed beanie snake as her item of the day.
And next year, we will repeat it all over again!
I can't wait!
