Oh December, Where'd you go?

I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to write a post. I can't stand it when I go a month between blogging. With school, grading papers, being mom, wife, doing church activities, and then throw in the whole "It's the month of Christmas shenanigans", things around here have been quite busy to say the least.

In no particular order and beware, this is sort of a photo dump kind of post.

We went to the Shawnee Christmas Parade one Thursday evening with a couple of friends from our church.
(below) The kiddos bundled up and had enough candy passed their way that the 2 hour parade didn't seem so long. Yes, it was about 2 hours! I've never seen such a thing!

Calloway was invited to a friend's birthday party at a local gym (below). She had forgotten some of her moves and skills from Little Gym in Fort Worth and was scared to do many of the apparatus'.
Here she is with her best buddy Will having some cupcakes at the party.

This is Calloway's Christmas dress this year. It is a very pale silvery-blue.
I thought it was beautiful and she looked gorgeous in it! (below)
Here she is on stage with her children's choir during their Christmas program.
I love that our little girl loves to sing and enjoys her choir.
It'd be hard to be in this family and not like music!

I was sick back in early December with a bad case of Strep Throat and was unable to hold up my end of our commitment to ring the Salvation Army Christmas Bell. Our church signed up for a whole Saturday and families came and went in shifts to ring the bell. Of course, the Music Man had to bring out his bigger/better bell.  Between that and our little cutie pie.....lots of people stopped and made donations!

Here is Calloway with Mr. Phil, one of her Sunday School teachers.
I think this was the Advent Sunday that they learned about love.

Daddy celebrated a pretty big birthday this year hitting the big 3-1!

It's always fun to go to the Dollar Tree and try on new hats.....
Helping mom shop means Calloway gets to have lots of fun.

One Saturday morning Cal made her bed all by herself without being asked.
She was so proud of it and wanted me to come in and take a picture of it.

One particular week was so busy that we didn't make it to the grocery store for food, so on this night we headed out for pancakes at the local IHOP. Nothing beats waiting on your food like playing
"Stack Up the Creamers". She was proud of her tower she had made.

This year I mailed 142 Christmas Cards. Here they are all addressed and ready to go to the post office.
I still had to buy stamps though. They lady at the post office did a double take when I told her how many stamps I needed.

My school let out on Tuesday afternoon for Christmas Break. Cal got out of school on Wednesday, which turned out real nicely for me. It allowed me to be able to go up to her school during her class Christmas party. I truly enjoyed it since my job doesn't really allow me the opportunity to get to be a mom during the regular school day! I think she was pretty excited that I got to be there too!
Here is Cal with a couple of her best girlfriends in her class -Kya and Landry.

One night Mark and Cal were having Mac-n-Cheese in her PJ's, during a movie. For some reason, I'm not sure where I was or what I was doing. I mean, I was there.......I took the picture, but I have no recollection of this at all.

The Sunday night right before Christmas, Calloway helped Dr. Bell
play the jingle bells during the song Sleigh  Ride.

I'm so sorry this post was choppy and that I just dumped a bunch of photos on ya! But please stay tuned for our wonderful Christmas trips and a little 5 year old girl's rootin-tootin birthday parties.
