Horse Lessons Week 3
This week we mounted Isaiah from the short bridge. Here is Calloway with her assistant Miss Laura and teacher, Ms. Charla, telling her what to do as daddy watches.
And she's on Isaiah with a bare back pad. This is the only way that she's ridden so far.
We haven't introduced a saddle yet.
Here she's leaning forward off of her pockets into riding position.
They take a couple of laps around the arena.....
before heading outside today for a guided trail ride.
Here is Cal practicing her jumping position which she'll use when Isaiah goes up a hill.
Going over the bridge was her favorite part.
And there's a smile!
She's so happy when she's on the back of that horse!
(sorry for the rear end shot)
And when the trail ride is over, she helps lead her horse to water.
At the end of lessons this week, she said that she wanted to ride a different horse
next time because Isaiah was really bumpy!
*Except that Isaiah is a Haflinger which means that he, by nature, is smaller horse, which in turn, makes it easier for Calloway's instructors/assistants to help her Also, it's not high as other horses which can be scary to smaller children. (Not as far to fall off either!) So, she'll probably be riding Isaiah for awhile!
