Last night at church was our end of the year "Children's Choirs Program". Calloway sings in the Pre-K and K choir under the direction of Mrs. Kim, Mr. Phil, and Dr. Kristen. She loves her choir teachers so much and really enjoys going to choir every Wednesday night.
Adoption Update
This past Saturday we attended 2 more of our DHS adoption classes. The first class was on cultures and what to do when you take in a child with a different culture than your own and what resources are available to you. The afternoon class was about child development and figuring out if the child you've received is developmentally on the right track or not. We also discussed trauma and the different types of trauma that these kids may have seen/gone through.
Again, Mark and I both felt that classes could have been more "meaty" but we are thankful for the few things we do take away from these classes. We have met 2 other couples in our class that are also adopting. One couple is hoping to get an infant and have already completed their home studies. We've been asking them lots of questions and it's nice to be able to share this process with others.
