Okay... here is what the nursery looks like now. My mom came back in May and she painted the black stripe around the room. It goes all the way around.
The curtains may be hard to see in this picture so I'll describe them. The top valance is black with white polka dots. The shade that comes down from behind is black and white striped obliquely. Then there are four ties that are made out of turquoise ribbon that has white polka dots on it. Basically theme of the room is black and white polka dotted on a turquoise backdrop. The furniture will all be black and the bedding will be a mix of polka dots, gingham, and stripes, all in black and white.
