It is really crazy to think back to one year ago and where I was/how fat I was and miserable. I couldn't wait to see her little face and come home with her and introduce her to "our world". She was born by C-section at 3:11am on Saturday, December 29th. The doctors had to knock me out completely so I didn't get to see her until around 10:30am that morning. I couldn't believe how perfect she was when I saw her. She had the rosiest lips and the sweetest little baby sounds. When they brought her through the door to me for the first time, I called her name and at the sound of my voice she turned her head towards me. What a great feeling that was! I was a proud new mommy! However, at that point we could never have anticipated the journey that lied ahead for me. After many days of chest pains, tests, x-rays, etc. (18 days to be exact) we got to come home! What a glorious day that was. My wonderful husband, mom and mother-in-law took turns being at my side and taking care of little Calloway while I struggled to get better.

AND here we are, one year later. Raising a beautiful, healthy, precious little girl who is crawling everywhere, saying several things such as: Woh! or Wow! or What's that? or What's this? and Da-Da (but no ma-ma yet). She is getting more brave at standing by herself and loves to play, clap her hands, sing, and smile at everyone while waving at them. She is such a bundle of joy and we look forward to many more birthdays with her.

Happy Birthday Calloway!
