Leading up to Thursday when Roselyn flew in, we had been throwing around Grandmother's name and that she was coming to visit. Calloway does call Roselyn, Grandmother. However, it wasn't until Roselyn arrived and later that evening when Calloway finally said her name. She could not get the (grand) in there so everytime she said Roselyn's name all weekend it came out uh-mother, hence the title of this blog. So we got to spend some great time with uhmother while she was here. Thursday evening we went to Little Gym where she got to video Calloway to make a movie for Grandpa Richard to see. Then we took uhmother to dinner at Olive Garden for her birthday.
When she comes, she always brings gifts. She brought me a new piece for my Snow Village and I am so excited to start decorating for Christmas. She brought Calloway this violin, some crayons and coloring books, of course new clothes, and a Whinnie the Pooh book. She brought Mark, oh wait, she didn't bring him anything! Ha! I think that definitely shows who she loves the most! .............Calloway of course!
Then on Friday, uhmother kept Calloway while I went to work and Mark went to class. This was a great time for her to spend with Cal. After Mark got out of class they headed down to Dublin, TX to the Dr.Pepper museum and factory. Those 2 love them some Dr. Pepper. They drink it like there is no tomorrow. Of course they brought back a case of Dr. Pepper with them.
When I got home from work, we rented a movie and had Creamy Tacos for dinner. Basically we just relaxed which was nice. Calloway did want to show off our pumpkins we had made for Halloween. We also showed uhmother her new playset outside and Calloway swang for a while.
On Saturday, we went to IHOP for breakfast and then uhmother, Calloway, and I headed to Grapevine Mills Mall to do a LITTLE shopping. Mark had orchestra rehearsal that morning for his recital, so naturally we did what girls do best. Six hours later we headed home having saved more that we spent. We had such a great time and got some really good deals.
Mark made lasagna for dinner and we got ready for his first doctoral conducting recital. Terry and Barbara begged to keep Calloway so that uhmother and I could enjoy Mark's concert. After the concert we took some friends to dinner/dessert at Fuddruckers where we had a great time catching and hanging out.
On Sunday, Calloway wore her new dress that uhmother brought her. We went to church, Subway for lunch, and then we had to take uhmother to the airport. It was sad to see her go but we had a fantastic weekend and can't wait to see her at Christmas!
We love you uhmother!
