Cleaning, Organizing, and Splashing

Well, yesterday was my first official day of summer break. I had been planning for a couple weeks now to tackle Calloway's room again. It just keeps getting cluttered and I don't know what to do. So, I decided to rearrange the furniture, clean out the toy box and hope that would help solve some of the problems.
We got a slow start yesterday due to running errands and then when we got home it was lunch time, Cal ate, and poor thing was so fussy I just put her down for a nap. So half the day was gone and I hadn't even started on her room....does this ever happen to anyone else? So, I got the brilliant idea to reorganize the pantry and Mark's computer which we haven't seen the bottom of in months. I was glad that I had come up with a way to be productive even though Cal was asleep. Here are some after pics for you...too bad I didn't take before pics.....oh well!
Let's just say that I tossed 3 trash bags full of stuff in the trash and then I have 5 trash bags ready to either go to a garage sale or goodwill or somewhere.
Finally Calloway got up from her nap and I began just dragging everything out into the living room. She kept saying, "What you doing mommy?" I just answered with, "Making a mess, Cal." Once I had everything in the living room except her bed and chest of drawers, I began rearranging her room. We had got a Calloway a new beta fish (whom she named Joe) last week and so I decided to move him into her room as well. I also decided to move her bookshelf out of her closet and into her room since she is really into reading books right now. That also meant that something had to go out of her room. I finally decided that her "orangish" Dora kitchen clashed with her room and it's decor, so I ended up putting it in the closet in place of the bookshelf. I actually like it in there better because I can just shut the door and keep that kitchen mess out of site. I also got a plastic bin with a lid so that she can put all of her food and dishes in it when she's not cooking. So, here is the final product. I haven't rehung all the stuff on the walls yet....but will get to that this weekend, I hope!

So, about 5 o'clock I still had a couple hours work on Cal's room but had considered taking her to the Splash Pad in Crowley to let her play in the water. We also needed to run to Kroger and get a few items. I decided that it would be best to take a break and go because I could always work on her room once it got dark. So, I changed Cal into her swimsuit and cover-up and headed to the park. We got there around 5:30 and that ended up being the perfect time to go....it wasn't too hot and there weren't many kids. SCORE! So I let her play for about 30 minutes and then we went to Kroger and came home and pizza for dinner. Then I finished Cal's room and we both went to bed. Calloway just kept saying, "I all wet!" as we drove from the Splash Pad to Kroger....it was really cute!
