Iron or Sugar?

Well, I guess that's the official question of the year. You see, today Mark and I celebrate our 6th Wedding Anniversary. So according to http://www.anniversary-gifts-by-year.com/ this year is either iron or sugar. Not the steam iron variety, domestic appliances are not a romantic gift, ever! This iron is the heavy black metal, maybe a new gate or a fun candlestick. And when most people think of sugar, their first thought is candy or chocolate. And while those are great gifts what if they don't like candy or chocolate then perhaps making their favorite dessert would be the way to go. It can add the perfect touch to a romantic dinner or just be a great surprise. Well, since I'm not much of a "sweets" person we are going with iron this year. More particular is the wrought iron. Now when one thinks of wrought iron, a big beautiful gate would be really nice. Like this one:I mean who wouldn't want to know what's hiding behind something so beautiful. Unfortunately our neighborhood and house isn't that type. So we are going to take it down a notch or two and have been looking into either a set of wrought iron bookends or a nice little wrought iron patio set.
When you start thinking of all the "iron" possibilities there are out there, it gets quite overwhelming. I mean from garden decor, to wall hangings, to sculptures, and for those sports fanatics out there.....golf clubs.
So, if it were your sixth wedding anniversary what would you go for? The patio set or the bookends? Or maybe you've already passed your sixth anniversary and would love to share what you or your spouse did. We'd love to hear it!
Now to end this post, I suppose I should say something sweet, sappy, and mushy.....so here's my best shot, a poem that pretty much sums it up.
My Blessing in Life
By: Jessica Newsome
Every morning I wake up and see,
My best friend lying next to me.
He's the one I cherish and love,
A blessing sent from heaven above.
I will love him as a faithful wife should,
And do everything for him I could.
I would let him know everyday,
That I love him more than words could say.
For the daughter we have together,
And the love for God in each other.
It will keep our love for each other strong,
And the Lord will guide us away from all wrong.
Mark, I love you and have really enjoyed the 6 years we've spent together. Watching you grow as a husband and father has been a blessing to watch. I love the way you are when you are playing with Calloway and it reminds me of our Heavenly Father's love for us. Thank you for these wonderful years! I can't wait for it to be our 60th!
Love ya,
Cari
