A Half Birthday

Last Wednesday our little girl turned three and a half! Yikes! Where is this year going? We decided to celeberate by taking her to Chuck E Cheese. This was her first time there and she was like a kid in a candy shop! She couldn't take it all in! We began the fun by riding with Barney on his train.
Playing inside the "big toy".
In the above picture she was telling me how much she loved this game.
Below she was looking through the window because the steering wheel actually operated a ball game on the other side.
Getting ready to go down the slide.
Of course slides are always more fun on your tummy!
Sometimes they're fun the regular way too!
Of course no visit to Chuck E Cheese is complete without seeing Chuck E himself and we did see him, but not long enough to get a picture.

Calloway really loves riding carousels. If we go somewhere that has one, she always begs to ride it!
Daddy teaching her to play the ever-famous ski-ball. My favorite!
Then it was back to the kiddie area to ride the horse.
Notice that I'm not in any of the pictures....well I guess I accidentally designated myself the photographer and never had Mark take any of the games that Cal and I played together.....oh well!

Then they came upon this roller coaster ride and it was pretty cool! Cal loved it! Maybe Mark will finally have a roller coaster riding buddy!
Well as I reflect on this half a year of the threes.....I can definitely say that they haven't been as smoothe sailing as the two's. She has definitely had a vocabulary explosion and sometimes her attitude and her mouth get her in trouble. They haven't been terrible threes but what we have called it is the "trying threes". She is definitely pushing us to see how far she can go.

On a more positive note, she has learned so much this year and at times I see her being so "big/little girl-like" and then there are the moments where she is still a "toddler/young child". She loves to snuggle with Mark and I at times and has gone through a stage here lately where she really wants us to carry her and hold her. I know she is getting big but I take advantage of these sometimes because I know that, not much longer and she won't want to do that anymore.

Cal loves grilled cheese sandwiches and requests them often at meal times. She also began to love spaghetti and breads.....wonder where she gets that from? She recognizes about half of her ABC's and some of her numbers. She loves to read and do jigsaw puzzles. We do both of these almost everyday. Calloway has 4 memory verses learned, six of her catechism questions down, and can sing "Jesus Loves Me" by herself. We are working on singing "Holy, Holy, Holy" and the "Doxology".

She looks forward to every Thursday when we go swimming at Mrs. Jaynanne's house. She now swims with only her "water wings" and loves the freedom it gives her. We have enjoyed playing at home this summer, watching TV, and using her new bug catcher. Unfortunately she has learned how to unlock and open the front door and this morning she helped herself to going outside.....Yikes! Boy did she get in trouble!

We are currently awaiting her school supply list to come in the mail so that we can start shopping for all of the things she's going to need to start preschool this fall. I can't believe my baby girl is going to school! She'll be attending 3-yr old preschool 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm. She picked out her lunch  box at Wal-Mart today and chose a Tinkerbell one. We've been practicing eating with a packed lunch so that she'll know how to open and close all of her lunch items. I know she is going to do so well in school and I can't wait to watch her grow in that area of her life.

Well, I think this post has been long enough....hopefully I'll update again in a few days.
Try to stay cool!
