A Little Gift

I have been a member on Pinterest for about 2 months now and I'm so addicted! The other day I ran across the most adorable wreath that was handmade for your child's teacher. Well, I got to thinking and as a teacher myself, it's always nice when your students think of doing something a little extra special for you. And with Calloway starting preschool this coming Monday, I thought it would be fun to try my hand at making one of these lovely little wreaths for her preschool teacher. It isn't perfect and it isn't quite finished yet. I'm going to put her teacher's name on it also but here's what it looks like so far.

I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and I learned a few things while making it that I'd do differently next time.

If you'd like to make your own crayon wreath for your child's teacher, here's what you need:
1 - 12" embroidery hoop
1 - 8" embroidery hoop
1 - box of 64 crayons
ribbon  (I used ABC ribbon, it's hard to see in the pic)
hot glue gun

You begin by spacing the 8" hoop exactly in the middle of the 12" hoop. Then you get out all 64 crayons and lay them out on the hoop checking for placement. The you lift one or two crayons at a time and hot glue them in place. When you are finished tie some ribbon as a hanger and vola! You have yourself a cute little wreath.
