Welcome to Calloway's side of the house!
First off, let me begin by saying that all of the pictures are still "IN PROGRESS" pictures, it's not completely finished yet! Also you will notice the leopard printed carpet. When we first saw the house, Calloway immediately fell in love with this room because of the carpet. For those of you who know her well, she ABSOLUTELY LOVES any and everything that has to do with animals. At first decorating this room was proving to be a challenge in my head until I went to my favorite store - Garden Ridge. I got her quilt, bed, and sheet set there. She fell in love with the quilt right away since it portrayed several different types of animal prints. I knew that the black pillow cases and bed skirt would be a nice neutral to ground things in the room.
While at Wal-Mart one day Calloway spotted the zebra printed curtains and she had to have them.
The plan is to add a strip of black fabric to the bottom of each panel so that there is a border to separte the striped curtains from the spotted floor.
This is Calloway's new dresser and mirror. I found the mirror on super cheap clearance and plan to paint it black. Also, I have some art work that is going up on either side of the mirror.
This is looking back towards her door and you can see the giant built ins that are floor to ceiling.
There were sliding wooden doors covering the built ins but they were difficult for Calloway to slide, so we took them down and I hung a rod with the plain black curtains. ***When my mom comes, she is going to hem those up about 3-4 inches so that they don't hang down as long past the ledge.
And when the curtains are opened and tied back you will see all of Calloway's toys and things.
I think it's really nice to be able to close it off to cover up everything but when she's playing to have it open so that she can access everything. (In this photo you can see that curtains hang down a little too far.) In the cabinet above I have stored clothes that are too big/too small and her easter basket and things like that. In the three drawers that are under the toy area I have put all of her shoes in one of the drawers, one is being used as storage, and the last drawer is currently empty because it takes an "act of God" to get that drawer pulled out.
On the other side of Calloway's room is her rocking dinosaur and her closet.
This is the inside of Calloway's closet. It has two shelves up above.
When you turn to the left in her closet there are a lot of shelves and that is where we have put all of her books. There is a bigger spot at the bottom where her Thomas the Train stuff is.
And looking up there are more book shelves.
At the end of the hallway is Calloway's bathroom.
It is a very narrow space so I tried my best to get adequate pictures. In the above picture you see her name sign hanging on that black wall. That wall is the wall at the end of the tub so when you enter her bathroom you have to make an immediate right. When you turn right, you see her sink and toilet (as pictured below).
Here is her bathtub to the left.
Looking back towards the door to the hallway.
And a floor shot to show you just how close that toilet and sink are to the tub.
****These curtains are getting hemmed also.
Well, I hope you are enjoy your little tour of our home!
Let me know what you think so far!
