And it all starts again...

I too, like many of you, are over-due on blogging.

Last week was quite busy with new Math Curriculum training and getting my classroom ready. This week I have started back to school for good. We have in service M-Th of this week and then Friday to finish our classrooms. Our students come next Monday. This year I will have 22 students, that's the most I've had yet. I am excited but my numbers aren't very pretty. I will have three 3rd graders, nine 2nd graders, and TEN 1st graders. I can't believe that I have that many little squirrels (yep, they act just like them)! Anyway, after a long day of Sexual Harrasment videos, data analysis for our campus, employee handbook training, among many other things, I arrived home to my wonderful family and the following scene shortly played out:

I love my daughter. I am so thankful that she has already showed an interest in music. I think Mark is even counting down the days util we can enroll her in Suzuki School.
Yesterday I got this crazy idea while I was painting my toenails before church that it would look super cute if Calloway had her toenails painted too. So, I tried. The key word here is tried. I pretty painted her whole toe and then went back over it with the polish remover and ta-da here is the outcome.

Over the last week or so, if you would have dropped by our house you would more than likely have found me sitting on the couch with my eyes glued to the Olympics. Many evenings Calloway and I would just sit there and watch them together. This has been a really special bonding time between she and I. Last night as we sat there watching the gymnastics event finals, she was getting really sleepy but did not want to go to bed. So, periodically she would just lay her head over on my chest for a few minutes and it was REALLY sweet. Here we are just sitting together.
